Just finish a portrait painting. Mainly focus on using cyan colours. This drawing is based on photos taken by my friend “Yeoh” while he was on a diving trip at Okinawa, Japan. The objective of the painting is to capture the floating feeling of being underwater. Also the amazing beauty of being inside clear ocean water surround by white sand

This is drawn from a very nice portrait captured by a friend whom went to Peru last year. His amazing photography gave me inspiration to draw this beautiful portrait of Peru children. I can imagine him capturing their photo under the hot sun of Peru, even thought the air might be cold. The bright background in contrast to their darken happy faces strike me, even thought life it’s self is hard but there are always hope if one seek to find it and believe in it.
Borneo Delight
Posted in Watercolors with tags Borneo, Orchid, Original Painting, Plants Art, Watercolors on October 26, 2009 by Francis JongGot this photo from my father, the Kuching house orchid has just bloom. Sweet fragrance is again in the air. The smell is so strong one might even notice it from 5 feet away. Very seldom the “Borneo Orchid” bloom with more then two flowers at each time. So that is what my father mention and of course the smell is quadruple in strength. The origin of this orchid might be from Lundu, a small town almost to the border of Sarawak and Indonesia. The small town is famous for it’s catch of wild boar and occasionally mouse deer but nowadays it is more well know for it’s flora, such infamous rafflasia flower can be found nearby the town. Have not seen them yet, may be one of this days. Hope you like this painting.
