Ray ban

Posted in Watercolors with tags , , , on October 31, 2011 by Francis Jong

Looking back at some old photo during the weekend and stumble on this particular one. I was in Shell Port Dickson, training to become an Operation Technician. I think it’s one of those really good times, hanging out with all the boys, young and naive. Drinking beers and be foolish. It’s just great, you, the sea breeze and the night shifts. SOmetimes during the off days, just ride the old bike (bicycle) and strolling leisurely along the beach shore and enjoy a hot bun (big pau). Yes, fashion of those days are imitating Stallone and Kurt Russell macho style. Tight jeans and Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Hope you like this painting and do have a smashing week ahead and be safe.

Thought of doing a portrait over the weekend, this time leave the white as background. So i refer to the photo which we took at a photo shot for kids during mid of the year. I’m still amaze on how the photographer able to capture my kid. I myself can’t even capture him smiling. Now that is skill.

Hope you enjoy this painting. You have a great week ahead and be safe. Keep smiling please.

A long pause after my last update. It’s almost the end of Ramadan month (Islamic month of fasting) at Malaysia and celebration is in the air. Would like to Wish all my Muslim friends a joyous Hari Raya Aidilfitri and have a safe trip “Balik Kampung” (Meaning: Going back to home town).

Just wanted to post this beautiful piece of children laughter on your trip going back home town and may the celebration fills with joy and happiness.

Hope everyone have a good week ahead and be safe.

Grandma House

Posted in Watercolors with tags , , on November 15, 2010 by Francis Jong

Another sentimental piece, i have been wanted to paint this for a while now but just can’t find the right time to do it. It’s really a fond memories of going to this house (House no longer there but the coconut trees still around and surounded by tall bushes), at times i could still smell the greenery, the burning coconut husk and the calling of the wild pegion or “puk ku”.

I think i did post a sketch on my grandma house before, this is a version of the actual house. Posting from left to right is my grandma (God bless her soul) strong and stout person, she single handedly manage all the hardwork on the plantation for many many years. It’s very tough but i guess she is used to the life. Standing next to her is my mom and little me and my dad.

Hope you like this painting.

Hi everyone, have not been posting for a while too much distraction and side track. I know it’s late to post Beth suggestion but well during late weekend i got some spare time to kill so why not. Here goes for my version of myself. Not good looking i know and since i use a mirrow to perform my self portrait i guess i manage to capture the mode also. This is what happen to a person who have too much work and no play.

Potty Time

Posted in Watercolors with tags , , , on June 9, 2010 by Francis Jong

Here’s a painting i done on my son while he’s playing with the potty. Very playfull fella i must say. Well he still don’t really know how to use the device so i guess he thought this must be another one of his riding toys. Hope we could train him to use the potty soon, diapers are really getting way expensive nowadays.

Hope you enjoy this painting.

Happy Faces

Child of PERUThis is drawn from a very nice portrait captured by a friend whom went to Peru last year. His amazing photography gave me inspiration to draw this beautiful portrait of Peru children. I can imagine him capturing their photo under the hot sun of Peru, even thought the air might be cold. The bright background in contrast to their darken happy faces strike me, even thought life it’s self is hard but there are always hope if one seek to find it and believe in it.

Year One

Posted in Watercolors with tags , , on October 14, 2009 by Francis Jong

This is a painting of my son whom just reached one year old. This is him wearing the year one t-shirt with diaper. Actually he is on his crib and his right hand is holding on to the crib side bar. This is actually only a handful of his photo where he can be still enough for me to take a good photograph. Taking kids photo really have its challenges. Hope you enjoy this painting.

With the God Parents

Posted in Watercolors with tags , , , , on June 16, 2009 by Francis Jong

This picture was captured a month after my baby boy got baptized at church of Our Lady of Guadalupe. So we invited the God parents for a lunch gathering at a Korean restaurant. This is one of the picture where my boy really smile looking at the camera, well the rest  he either frown or just act miserable, I think that’s how babies is.

Thought of putting the picture into paintings for quite some time now but always have many more other drawings to do. But last Sunday really take full 3 hours to finished this. Hope you enjoy the painting.

Trip to Miyajima

Another watercolor painting from my Trip to Japan, this time it’s the island of Miyajima. The floating Tori gate is the symbol of this trip. It’s an amazing experience, there’s deer all around the island, beautiful sights and lots of delicious local delicacies such as grill oysters.
